Shop by Metal Type-Multi-Metal Welders

If you work on more than one material or more than one thickness, swapping machines mid-job costs more than the machines are worth. These Simder units combine several processes in a single box.

Depending on the model you get MIG, flux core, lift or HF TIG, stick and — on the combo units — plasma cutting. Typical multi-metal picks are the SD-4050 Pro for aluminum MIG plus cutting, and the MIG-250 for 6-in-1 shop versatility.

Every machine ships with a 3-year warranty. Email service@ssimder.com with your materials and we'll point you at the right process mix.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a welder multi-metal capable?

Process spread plus amp range: MIG for mild steel, stick for dirty/thick steel, TIG for stainless, and (on the SD-4050Pro/TIG-250AC) pulse or AC capability for aluminum. One machine covering 3+ metals replaces a fleet.

Do I change anything when switching metals?

Wire/rod type, gas, polarity where applicable, and settings - the hardware swap is minutes. Synergic programs on Simder multi-process machines store per-process presets so switching is mostly pick-and-go.

Which multi-metal machine is the best value?

The MIG-250 6-in-1 covers steel/stainless work plus plasma cutting for under-the-price-of-one legacy MIG; the SD-4050Pro 10-in-1 adds aluminum pulse MIG and HF TIG at the top of the range.

Can one ground clamp and work lead serve all processes?

Yes - that is the point of multi-process: one power source, one ground, and you swap only the torch side. Keep the clamp on clean bare metal for every process change.
